Staying Focused on your goals : Five tips to success
As a female entrepreneur , I know that I can sometimes get so focused on my goals that i’ll work until the sun comes out, 72 hours in a row . Constantly crafting my brand , that is until I completely burn out and have to take a few days of recovery. This is exactly what you should NOT DO. It took a few recurrences of “Burned out fever” for me to realize that changes had to be made to my work ethic. I was turning myself stir crazy.

I know it probably sounds like i’m talking in riddles but i’m going to break it down for y’all.
Mix in the fun and take a load off!
Once I discovered my MAJOR fault with my business mindset , I discovered how to fix it. Find something else you enjoy small or large. For me, I love TV shows , I watch an endless amount of shows, and with netflix style watching you can end up getting carried away. I found my happy medium by saying i’ll watch at least one episode of my current favourite tv show per day . This way I know i’m taking at least an HOUR each day to not think about work . I can turn my business brain off and and just relax a little. So i’m encouraging you to find time for other things . That short little break you will have will be the perfect opportunity to recharge your brain and your ideas . Plus you never know where your next spark of inspiration may come from.
Create mood boards and update them regularly
I can’t speak for everyone , but one thing I know for a fact is that learning new things visually, can drastically impact your business drive. I live for Mood Boards and Vision boards and I say this time and time again. I have about 25 private pinterest boards of inspiration and an entire weheartit account dedicated to inspiring my creative drive.
Try picturing what you want to achieve visually , and plan it into existence! It’s not just about creating that visual plan, it’s also about refining your plans and ideas!
Constantly refine your ideas .
We are all human , we all change and evolve over time . What may have been a major goal for you two months ago, may now actually just be a small stepping stone to something larger ; Or you may have changed your interests to something else. That’s ok . Your vision board is not a formal contract, it’s just a visual representation of your ideas. As your ideas change, so will your images. Keep the old ideas on your board so you can come back to them later in life. You may actually find it interesting to see the difference in your mindset as time goes on.
Get an organiser physical or digital
This is probably the most important point I can give you . YOU NEED A SCHEDULE. Whether it’s digital through Google calendar , on your tablet and phone, or classic on paper. Personally I love both . I need to handwrite my appointments in my physical planner and I organise everything into folders. Each aspect of my life is completely organised, this is the only way I can function and do so many different things without mentally burning out. Anything that’s incredibly important i’ll add to my google calendar which I have synced through all my devices. I also create schedules for my social media accounts through excel.

Create an action plan
I have TO DO lists galore, but they mean nothing unless I create an action plan to go along with it.
I may have a goal to achieve 3000 email subscribers. How exactly do I get those subscribers? I need to write down the time frame of when this should happen by and the individual daily steps to achieve it. If I give myself a small task from my plan each day, it keeps me motivated to work towards the bigger picture. If I was to try and do everything all in one go I would loose interest quickly. I’ll feel like there’s too much to do and end up completely overwhelming myself.
