YOUTUBER 101 | How to start a a YouTube channel
PART 7 | HOW TO MAKE MONEY
So you have been following my guide to become a YOUTUBER and have read :
And now you want to know how you can make money with your videos
Personally I wouldn’t recoomend monetizing your first video . It can come across wrong to your viewers , that you are only out for the money . That may be your intention but when you are just starting out , you want people creating mis conceptions of you or your channel.
However if you DO want to monetise your FIRST video then feel free to do so. Monetizing your following videos can be a great way to earn a little pocket money . Yes some Youtubers are millionaires off of YouTube, but it’s going to take while to achieve this kind of success . When you start monetizing your videos you probably won’t start making even $100 until your subscriber count is over 5k or 6k and you have a. Steady view count on each video. But it’s still nice to build up those pennies for a rainy day!
Youtube makes it easy to get your videos monetised . All you have to do is sign up for the partner program to become Youtube partner verified. it’s incredibly easy and requires you to have an Adsense account through Google . It’s free to create an Adsense account and if you have other things online like a blog you can link it to the same account .
YouTube will then place relevant ads along side your videos . You can choose where you want your ads to appear. The most common is on the video itself, along with the 30 second advertisment before your video.
Later on you can choose to possibly partner with a MCN . Where they will offer you YouTube support a higher income rate and access to various services in exchange for a cut of your income. Some people may not see the value in partnering externally as some feel they do not get the support stated in the contract. I partnered my first YouTube account and had a terrible experience , one the contract was over I was quick to make sure it didn’t renew. I really did not like my experience with STYLEHAUL and would never partner with them again , however some people have had an opposite experience . My current YouTube account Simmingwithabbi is partnered with BBTV , where although I don’t also get the support I expected , I get loads of perks such as access to thousands of royalty free music , social scheduling software and an optimisation software . So it works out great for me in comparison.
When it comes to making money on YouTube you sometimes have to reach for external sources such as affiliate links. There are numerous brands and companies that offer affiliate links that you can use to ear a small commission for promoting their brands or products . When you are just starting out on YouTube , these otpions aren’t always available but as you start to grow your channel you will have many more opportune is arise and it will become increasingly easier for you to shelve monetary success.
Making money goes hand in hand with Promoting your video . The more you promote the move views you will receive , the more people will see your channel and subscribe And the more times your advertisement gets promoted , thus leaving you with more money in your Adsense account.
Later in the series I’ll be telling you guys about how to schedule your content online .
