Ashley x Canva: Enterprise Hype Video

THE ASK

Create a high-energy hype video to announce the new partnership between Ashley and Canva. The goal was to introduce Ashley’s marketing specialists to their new enterprise toolkit.

The Challenge: Showcase specific technical features—Bulk Create, Brand Templates, Video Timeline, and the Asset Library—without it looking like a generic software tutorial. The video needed to feel distinctly “Ashley,” demonstrating exactly how our specific SKUs and brand assets live within the Canva ecosystem.

Target Audience: Internal Marketing Specialists & Retail Teams
Distribution: Internal Launch & Training Communications

FINAL OUTPUT

CREATIVE DIRECTION

Tech-forward, energetic, and fun. I wanted to move away from dry screen recordings and instead create a stylized, motion-designed interpretation of the software. The aesthetic needed to blend Canva’s recognizable UI with Ashley’s premium product photography.

Visual Approach: Simulated UI animation, kinetic typography, and upbeat pacing
Key Features Highlighted: Bulk Create efficiency, Brand Templates, and the integrated Asset Library

THE PROCESS

UI Simulation & Motion Design:
To maintain perfect visual control and pacing, I rebuilt the Canva interface elements in Adobe Illustrator rather than relying on screen capture. This allowed me to curate the “user journey” specifically for an Ashley employee.

Workflow:

  1. Asset Creation: Designed vector-based UI elements in Illustrator to replicate the Canva workspace.
  2. Brand Integration: Populated the “software” with exclusively Ashley product photography and SKUs to show relevant use cases.
  3. Animation: Imported assets into After Effects to animate the cursor movements, clicks, and feature reveals.
  4. Pacing: Edited to high-energy music (Universal Production Music) to build excitement around the tool’s capabilities

KEY INSIGHTS GAINED

  • Tool Adoption via Design: Presenting software tools through high-end motion design increases internal excitement and adoption rates compared to standard training manuals.
  • Workflow Visualization: Highlighting features like “Bulk Create” demonstrated a focus on efficiency and scalability for the marketing teams.
  • Brand Safety: Demonstrated how the Asset Library ensures marketing specialists only use approved, high-res Ashley imagery.

Impact: The video was deployed internally to all marketing specialists gaining access to the platform. It successfully hyped the partnership and provided a clear visual guide on how to leverage the new tools for Ashley-specific workflows.
